Abstract
Routine screening of all pregnant women during antenatal clinic visits is being advocated so as to detect Asymptomatic Bacteriuria (ASB) and avert associated complications. Urine culture technique is the gold standard for diagnosis of ASB but it is unaffordable in developing countries. There is paucity of data on the use of Uriscreen test as an alternative screening tool to urine culture in detecting ASB in obstetric practice.
Aim: To compare the accuracy of Uriscreen with urine culture method for the detection of asymptomatic bacteriuria in pregnancy.
Study Design: Comparative Cross-sectional study
